Parole is an early release from prison that is granted by the Regional Parole Board and only to TDCJ inmates that are deemed to not be a threat to society. The Board also considers the means of support an inmate will have upon early release and their ability to obtain employment and transportation.  The review process is subjective in nature and granted at the discretion of the Regional Parole Board. The Board's review is primarily based on information gathered by the State of Texas and includes such things as the offense, time served, risk factors, the inmate's criminal history, information supplied by trial officials (including victim impact statements), and a report from the inmate's Institutional Parole Officer (IPO). The Parole Board does not interview the inmate and the inmate is not present at any hearings. This is why it is important to have someone advocating for the inmate’s parole on their behalf, to tell their story to the Board. My role as an advocate is to gather information that is not included in the report from the IPO, facts and arguments that support the inmate's early release. I will explain any negative information related to the inmate and present their side of the story.  My role is to present the inmate to the Regional Board in their most positive light while advocating for their early release. My ultimate goal is to reunite the inmate with their loved ones, to help them start building a new life outside of prison.
Once an inmate is released on Parole, they are subject to strict conditions. If those conditions are violated, they are subject to being returned to prison and once again being separated from their family. I represent inmates in the two-step Parole Revocation process: the Probable Cause Hearing and the Revocation Hearing.  My goal is to first advocate that no violation occurred, and if necessary, then explain any violations to the Hearing Officer and advocate for the client's continued Parole.

"I will Fight for the early release of your loved one, to reunite them with their family.  I also fight to keep your loved one free, to help keep them at home with their family!"
